With the Winter Olympics this month, many students explored learning opportunities and teamwork through the lens of global athletics.
Children at Nelson Elementary had their own Olympics, complete with opening ceremonies. They had several fun events over a two-week period.
Students at Brentwood Park Elementary got into the spirit of the Winter Olympics with a theme day, playing games and watching events. Children at South Slope Elementary and the BC Provincial School for the Deaf cheered on Team Canada in the library. At Kitchener Elementary, students shared their excitement for Olympic hockey with a display.
A Grade 6/7 class at Brantford Elementary did art projects about the Olympic mascots. While cheering on the Canadian athletes, the French Immersion class sang “This is My Home, Oh Canada” in both French and English. Listen to it .
